Seeminly, this is a Holdiay Buggy. But on closer inspection; some q's appear. What is this in the battery/transmitter region? And what is this on top of the engine and gears? Is this a Tamiya rip-off? Or someone very ingenious having produced some really factory looking parts?

It's a Chinese copy of the HB ... not hugely rare TBH, but they do have their fans.

IIRC the body on these is styrene rather than polythene & came in a multitude of colour schemes.

What sort of age? - was it a copy at the time, or is it something the chinese did fairly recently? Good idea with the gearbox cover, wonder if it would fit an original. Like the idea of a styrene body too, gives some options other than blue

My spidey sense says early 1990's ... but I've really got nothing to back that up.

Have you seen any in the UK? Might have to keep an eye out for one now
