Seeminly, this is a Holdiay Buggy. But on closer inspection; some q's appear. What is this in the battery/transmitter region? And what is this on top of the engine and gears? Is this a Tamiya rip-off? Or someone very ingenious having produced some really factory looking parts?

It's a Chinese copy of the HB ... not hugely rare TBH, but they do have their fans.
I did have a link to someone's collection of these, but I seem to have lost it IIRC the body on these is styrene rather than polythene & came in a multitude of colour schemes. |

What sort of age? - was it a copy at the time, or is it something the chinese did fairly recently? Good idea with the gearbox cover, wonder if it would fit an original. Like the idea of a styrene body too, gives some options other than blue
