Porsche 911 GT2 Street Racer

This is the first body that I painted for the GT2, I wasn't happy with the results (some overspray and a few bleeds) so I put it aside and finished the Jägermeister one instead. This is my take on the street version box art. I wanted to go for a monochrome road racer / track car look, hence the number plates. The RWB thing has been done before, and the GT2 kit isn't quite wide enough to look like one so I didn't do that, just the Idlers tyre logos for a nod to the club.

I did all the same things as the Jäger body but also added some bits which I'd missed last time - silver door locks and the separator line on the window trim between the door and rear quarter glass.
I used the GT3 light buckets again but the headlights didn't look quite right - too plain without the glass texture shown on the stickers. I noticed the 49400 and Tamtech 934s have stickers which have the silver lines on and leave the rest of the headlight transparent so I made some of those.

I also added body lines for the first time. I think you can get away without them on darker colours or when the car has lots of graphics but on a white or mostly white car like this they really help. I made these by cutting thin strips of black vinyl. I'm not convinced they look quite right though. Maybe a bit too thick in places?

The number plates are vinyl stuck to lexan for some depth. The reg isn't a typo, 911 GB is Porsche UK's plate for press cars. It crops up on a variety of cars in magazines etc. The mirrors are from the Suzuki SX4 WRC.
