3 speed gear box
The 3-speed chassis was a revolution when it was released in 1981. The all-metal chassis, the scale realism and the selectable, while driving, 3-speed gear box had never been seen before. The motor and gear box is placed in the front and the water proof radio box is in the rear. The front suspension, with free-wheeling hubs in front, are suspended by leaf springs, as is the rear. No dampers were included, but SRB dampers could be fitted as an option. Particularly the Hilux suffered from the hard leaf-springs. With the plastic (!) inserts in the tires the ride became very bouncy. The Blazer improved on that a little with the foam filled tires.
