If I remember right, the 380 pinions have a 2mm bore and a 0.5 mod pitch. I got mine from
Robinson Racing

Ok cool. It's the right size bore for what I need but the wrong mod. I need a 08. 12t/13t/ or 14t.
Any suggestions? |

Are you absolutely sure you need 08 mod? Those teeth are way too big for a 380 motor. Looking at the picture of pinion 50012 compared with the 2mm bore diameter, those don't look like 08 mod teeth. |

It might sound a bit obscure but I am trying to fit a 390 in a re re holiday buggy. And the stock 10th is to small.

Assuming a 390 is just a longer/higher torque version of a 380, I'd guess all other dimensions are the same, so you'd need the H1 & H3 adaptor parts that come on the Holiday buggy H sprue (19005989) used to fit the stock 380 motor. Further assuming your new pinion is the same as the stock, pressed on 10T/0.8 mod pinion & the 390 motor shaft is the same dimension as the 380, the usual fix is a short length of 1/8" brass tube used as a spacer |

It's just longer but seems to need a couple extra teat on the pinion. I would keep the 10 on but it's revving it's nuts off with no real distance covered.

OK I see what you mean ... if you really want to stick with the 390 then I think you'd need to look at making at least one of the holes on the spur gear side of the gearbox (part A1) into a curved slot so you can determine the gear mesh yourself, a la more competition oriented cars. Not something I'd do myself, when there is an easy upgrade route (17T pinion & silvercan, Torque Tuned or Sport Tuned motor etc). |

I use a silver can with a 17t at the moment and needed something a little less tail happy for my son as it becomes abit pendulus due to its short wheel base. I did have a 21t in it but it kept lifting the front to much after I tweeked the timing.
