Hi, I’ve built up 3 original 3 speed chassis over the last year or so.
But one thing is puzzling me. I’ve noticed on some of the hubs I’ve had that there is a metal piece inside.

Some haven’t had this piece, but I have got a few now that I’ve picked up.
The instructions do not mention this piece at all. Did it come pre-assembled ?
If so then I should fit these back onto the hubs ?

Finally what do they do ?

Many thanks in advance.
Cheers Al.

On the blazer the hubs are pre built. This piece is here for the transmission. Maintain the trans tree.

Hi Flo, thanks for the reply.
So if I understand, they are to help the front wheels spin freely when the hubs are pulled out ??

Thanks again.

Yep they are one way bearings. They work like a diff on the front train. And you can lock them to have a rigid axle.

Thanks for the further explanation.
I’ll have to take all my front hubs off and fit these bits back where they belong.
I think I should be able to put them in 2 cars.

Many thanks Flo.

Have a great weekend.
