If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

Scored a second Lathe for a good price.

Never used, oil and grease all dried up and in need of a rebuild.

The lower axle was stuck quite a bit needed some heating of the carriage.

All back together again, next is a new motor.

Motor (24V, 150W, ZY6812) installed, now it needs a nice box for the electronics.

Good choice Waterbok, these machines are very good. I had a Unimat 4, which is a close relative, and machine was excellent, reliable, easy to maintain and accurate.
I see that we share the same problem. I also started with one and I already have two. The problem is I can not persuade myself to sell one (my wife does not think it's funny ;-) )

The last unimat sl I saw is last week on the bay. Full options but too expensive for me. 900€ with shiping. My dad has a grey emco with a "new" motor. And several accessories for it. I have to learn how to use it. :)

Stingray-63 for 1000 € plus shipping Ill sell my compact 5 with column ... To get an idea I bought and sold my Unimat 4 for 300 €. It should be possible to find a Unimat 4 with assesories for less than 500 €. Just a note, the Unimat 3 and SL is a kind of cult machines and the prices are high. But if you want a functional lathe, Unimat 4 is the equivalent to Unimat 3 and is superior to SL.
