Jonny wrote a almost complete topic on the acoms story. You'll find all you need about this brand.

Cheers Flo, I’ll look that up. I could do with all the info I can find.

Nice idea, I remember the shell looking pretty cool.
I like the colour, different.

Good plan !

I bought this Acoms mk2 transmitter.
I realised I’ve got 4 sets of Acoms servos and receivers, but no idea if any of it works.

I haven’t got a matching set of Acoms crystals. I’ve got a couple in the receivers.
Will my matching pair of Futaba crystals work in the Acoms equipment ?

And do the servo testers work with old rc equipment ?

Cheers,

Al

Yep servo tester works on oldies. You need to check the servo pinout but it is ok for acoms. It is the same as futaba. And for your crystals it is ok if they are in 27mhz band.

Cheers Flo, so I have a set of crystals I can use.
I think I’ll get a servo tester as well, they are cheap and reviews seem good.
I just need to find a way of pin pointing what is good and what will end up just being on display - static.

Is there any way of telling whether the receivers work or are toast ?

Cheers matey.

You only need to be sure of your tx. Easy to do but I can't explain in english. :(
If tou are sure of crystals and transmitter, the receiver works or is toasted. ;)

Flo send me the explanation on checking the tx in French, I’ll translate it.
Cheers.

Received these bits and pieces today. The stand is really nice, but I still need to attach the top plate.

And I've considering Lipo for a while now and thought I'd bite the bullet on a budget combo just to see what it's like. Not sure what model I'm going to use it in yet and I only have vintage options at the moment. It's either going to be a TTO1 or RC10. The motor is a 4300KV with a 2S Lipo. Good or bad idea? Not sure how good these combos are - very cheap & mixed reviews.

I have got the same lipo. Tt01 should support easily the bl combo but to be safe , you need a steel motor pinion and a aloy motor support. And the most important thing, have fun ;)
I think that the rc10 should support but I nothing know about this model. Some friends use this with bl combos and have no matter.
