Missed out on the initial re-release on the Avante for various reasons. Then I started to look for this kit again about a month ago, but all were what I would term VERY up there on price for a kit not that old.
Then at last I found one , new in the box /unbuilt for a reasobnable price , and it was located here .. in Australia . Great , grabbed it and it arrived last week. Then I spotted another one , for an even better price. Well what's a man supposed to do .. so I grabbed that one as well. Attachments: |

After a bad experience recently when a seller sent a knackered tyre, allegedly NIB ??!!! Any way I got a new set from the US. These are for my 936 build and I think these where the final part of build. I’m always amazed when something this old still turns up. I’ll be stunned if I can do the tyre lettering. Attachments: |

Some more vintage parts turned up today. The wheel stopper set, which was a daft purchase because I sold one of these earlier this year. I hate re-buying stuff I used to have. And the F2 steering set up, which I'm planning to use on my Countach 58005 build. The only difference between the 2 kits is the steering rod. I found one of these in a previous build, which at first I thought it was home made, until I scoured the catalogues and spotted that they have a bend on one end and is threaded on the other on the F2 kits. One more part to get hold of and then I will hopefully be able to build a 58005 and 58009. I'm always amazed at still being able to find vintage parts that must be about 40 years old, which I think is testament to Tamiya's success and parts supply. Attachments: |
