Hi Flo, Andy gave me the rear shocks, I consider this a team effort.

A new project started with arrival of a few parts today. This is not a complete car, but those parts are in very good condition (basically new) and did not cost a lot, so it was a no brainer...

Hirobo 44B chassis parts... I know already the rear end part is like the Zerda and the missing front part is symmetrical. And I have what is required to model already some of the missing parts with the Zerda. Will be missing other things in this, but that's already more than what I expected for the price I paid :-D
I buy kits to built and ru(i)n them :-)

I find the Hirobo 44B very interesting. Born in 1983, it has essentially all the genetics of the modern RC cars: With triangulated wishbones front and rear, tie rods for upper arms, decent shocks, 4WD (first electric 4WD car), and a timing belt to get the power to the front wheel. The Optima which came in 1985 is a similar architecture, with much improved reliability. The plastics used on the Hirobo 44B were too brittle, and the belt would miss some steps very often, but otherwise, that would have been a hit from start... Those are the reason why this car is so important in the history...

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)
