I've got a drawer full of period correct radio gear sets ranging from the old stick type to the pistol grip. They're all in excellent condition & ready to be used in any build. I've never understood why people get any type of RC vehicle & turn them into a static model for the shelf. As all of mine are ready to run with the addition of charged batteries & are true RC shelf queens that work.
My other car is a Tamiya - bumper sticker on my van
