I wouldn't say i love the CC-01, but I do think it's an affordable way to hold the wheels in the right places for a scale build, has some offroad ability, lots of upgrade options, and because of its very long production run, I don't think there will ever be a time when there won't be CC-01 parts available. As for unpopular, I would have thought most of the regulars here have at least one, if not more. |

Yes, but this is a Tamiya forum. Here in the USA, I don't know a single other person at the local store or track who has one. The key to loving it is understanding what it is. It is not a rock crawler and it is not a touring car. It is something in the middle and makes a great, inexpensive base for scale vehicles. Something has to be said for still being on the -01 version of the chassis after 25+ years. This has been in continuous production, pretty much unchanged, for all that time. They must be doing something right. |
