I've been having a lot of fun with my CC-01's this week. I love this chassis; I don't know why it isn't more popular.

Two more CC-01's sitting on the shelf waiting to build!

I've started building a new built F-2 chassis for a NIB Renault Mk.22 bodyset.

I wouldn't say i love the CC-01, but I do think it's an affordable way to hold the wheels in the right places for a scale build, has some offroad ability, lots of upgrade options, and because of its very long production run, I don't think there will ever be a time when there won't be CC-01 parts available.

As for unpopular, I would have thought most of the regulars here have at least one, if not more.

Yes, but this is a Tamiya forum. Here in the USA, I don't know a single other person at the local store or track who has one.

The key to loving it is understanding what it is. It is not a rock crawler and it is not a touring car. It is something in the middle and makes a great, inexpensive base for scale vehicles.

Something has to be said for still being on the -01 version of the chassis after 25+ years. This has been in continuous production, pretty much unchanged, for all that time. They must be doing something right.
