Spent a few minutes today wiping over my Blackfoot body. As you can see from the pictures it has suffered considerable damage and is going to be harder to repair than I initially thought.
The previous owner appears to have used some type of two-part epoxy resin which has formed almost immovable lumps of residue in and around the breaks. There are also small amounts of material missing from those fractures making a clean, asthetic repair almost impossible. I used a little bit of sandpaper to coherse the old adhesive but it had minimal influence in removing the residue. There is lots of work to do before attempting a full repair and I'm reluctant to use many re-release parts. I want to keep everything as original as possible, even if that means some imperfections. But new windows and a few missing decals are non negotiable, I have to replace those. A few pics of my busted body lol. |
