After driving up to Sydney from Melbourne on Friday (9hrs) A buddy and I attended a vintage RC race meeting :) Today was all the 2wd classes, We ran in the basic class with Wild ones, Falcons, Hornets, and the like. I ran a Fav and placed 5th over all out of 12, Not bad for the first time on this track and not racing in more than 25 years :) Tomorrow is the 4wd classes and I will run a LWB Optima mid in the stock class.

Andy, front left is that someone racing a Sand Rover ??

Looks like you had a cracking weekend.

So I spent today putting a Cheetah chassis together.
I really enjoy working on these.
The only downer on this is that 5 screws are not original.
Unless you get a chassis absolutely complete some screws just disappear.

So now begins the time consuming tyre preservation.
I need to strip some paint off some wheels to make the best set.
Also none of the bumper brackets, (the big black piece of metal at the front ), that I’ve got are matching. I’ve got 5 and all of them have a different angle.
I’d like to respray these as well, so best to bend them first.
I think the easiest thing left to do is make a protective chassis guard. The manual says it’s 1.2 mm thick. The closest I can find is 1 mm, so I’ll need to order some.

Cheers Al

Hi Andy, that's a nice looking Sand Scorcher. Unlike the one Jonny posted in the " look at the state of that " section.

What are you working on at the minute, or is it still the new workshop build ?
