Look in my Escort Mk2 thread. That's the build. So far I have cleaned all the parts, polished the metal parts and converted it to M-chassis width. Standard size 540 brushless will fit the chassis without problem, but those featuring cooling fins on the sides will not fit. I'm pretty sure my Castle 3500kv motor will fit. A 5900kv motor is about the limit as after that the size is changing. With such motor you will do 60mph on 2s with ease. Small 3s Lipo will fit, like a 2200mAh, I can check as I have couple of thise for my crawlers. With those you need to fabricate side supports for the battery so they won't slide out. Have seen people have opend the center on top and have fitted larger 3s. I'm not going to fit metal parts, like aluminium arms as they just add weight and when if you crash they tend to break off the mounting points on the chassis, which means you need a complete new chassis. Most likely I will go for plastic CVA shocks instead of aluminium ones. But I may make a aluminium skid to protect the bottom as it will become a rally car. Depends on the final ride hight. |

hi thanks i do have a 550 traxxas titan brushed motor in it that going around 37mph or so
what i really need to find out is whats the same size motor as the brushed motor i have then go the biggest brushless motor in the same size so every thing will fit and the batterys and the esc could go on a plate coving the hole on the back of the chassis would be good to see lol |

Worked on the TL01 copy to M spec project today...
Spannerman: The HBX came with 550 motor which I think is about the same as the Traxxas motor in size. It will not go on with M chassis suspension as you can see here. But it might work with regular touring suspension which is 1cm wider at each side. You may have to fit offset wheels to make sure it clears. Or fit wider wheelhex which will do the same as lower offset wheels, aka poke it more outwards towards the wheelarch of the body. If that gets too wide, you can use 200mm bodies to cover the wheels. |

So I've just bought a set of 3D printed 934 wheels. Luckily no one else put in a bid, so this becomes a fairly modest experiment. The reason for this is because I'm planning a Porsche 936 build. I've got a body set on its way and I've got all the parts for the chassis. But after a few chats with some serious collectors, the original wheel sets are just not around ( at the minute any way ). So in order to try to be able to have the car looking as close as possible to the original, I thought I had nothing to lose in trying these wheels. If nothing else they'll do as a stop gap. I expect the wheels to need some prep work and painting. I've never bought any 3D parts before so I'm interested to compare these to the original set I have for my 934 build. I'll let you know what they're like when they arrive. But if original parts can't be found then this seems like the way forward. Attachments:

Yep if you have any of the TL01B variants (HBX Bonzer Cross TIger, Bonzer XT Cross Tiger or Tamiya Baja Champ, Baja King), you will be able to fit nearly any motor that has the correct diameter |

Absima 1:10 Revenge CTM 4.5T SC 2-P / 550 Size motor is probably one of the craziest motor you can fit to the TL01 chassis, but you need a esc to handle 4.5turn motor and you need to have very good battery for that setup, like 100c one.
. Not to forget that only round type of batteries can be fitted to a stock TL01 chassis, 4000mAh is about the max size for a 2s lipo. And don't think the gears can handle that power over time. There is not any aluminium or steel gears available for these, only stock nylon or the reinforced type for the M chassis which uses the same gears. |
