Hi,

I'm seeking some advice on Ultrasonic cleaners, in particular their effectiveness over conventional methods (hours spent with a cloth and cotton bud ..lol) Are they effective for removing dirt and grease from smaller components?

There seems to be so many different models and prices, some incredibly expensive, others extremely reasonable. Do they essentially all do the same thing?.

Would really appreciate any guidance on the topic.

Many thanks.

For me what you really buy with an ultrasonic cleaner is time to do other things while the best mostly clean themselves - which is great, unles you _like_ spending time cleaning the fiddly bits while doing something hands free like listening to the fitba on the radio... I wouldn't buy super cheap, but I don't think you have to spend a huge amount either :)

Thanks Jonny. Great article.

I don't mind putting in a shift of elbow grease lol. For me, it was more an issue of which method delivers the best results. Even after soaking some parts for days, I still find pockets of stubborn grease and grit that requires cottonbud surgery lol. But if an ultrasonic cleaner were able to provide a more forensic result, it would definitely be of interest moving forward.

Thank you once again for your advice Jonny.
