I've only recently become aware of the "Quick Drive" series of models and am looking for more information about them. I found
this thread
by a lucky user who seems to have all of them and I am also aware that they are listed here in the database, but I'm really looking for technical information. What kind of chassis did they use? Did they all use the same chassis? Any pictures of the internals? How rare are they? Why don't I own them already? That sort of thing.

Blackbird. The quick drive serie is a toy version of several models like beetle midnight and blackfoot...
They have toy radio and différents chassis types. More like nikko and smaller than the original models often 1/14. I only kept the midnight and sold the clod/ blackfoot I had. Waterbok should be able to answer you. |

Thanks for all the detailed information; it was more than I could have expected. Very interesting to see this very different type of Tamiya offering. These came to my attention when I became aware that the body from the Monster Beetle Trail actually came from the old QD model.
