Hello All! I originally purchased my first 3 Tamiya RC cars from Freiler's Hobbies in Torrance, California back in the late '70's when I was in high school (while making money pumping gas at my uncle's Union 76 station). The cars were a green 934 in 1977, Martini 935 in 1978, and the Ligier Matra JS9 Competition Special in 1979. A couple of years later I rebodied the Ligier with a green Martini Lotus 79 body kit. After I graduated college in 1983, life got in the way and sadly all 3 cars were lost. Eventually I started back up with Tamiya RC about 15 years ago, restoring a thrashed TT01 Escort and rebodied that chassis as a BMW 3 series as a model of the car my wife was driving at the time. Now I'm finding that I'm getting a little more than waist deep back into Tamiya RC- I recently purchased a used original CS F1 chassis, acquired what I guess is a re-release of the Lotus 79 JPS body kit, and a roller that is some sort of mish-mash of F101 and F102 parts, that oddly enough, I want to fully restore first. With both kids graduated from college, it is needless to say the bug has hit again!

I am waiting a matra js9. It should arrive monday or tuesday. The tt01 is a good runner and the e30 is one of the nicest lexan bodies. |
