Hello everyone!
I am a newbie restorer who has recently took ownership of an early 1990's(ish) Quick drive Midnight Pumpkin. I am in the process of trying to locate parts which is proving difficult the manager of the local HS just laughed at me Looking to chat and discuss options for this rebuild with the long term view of restoring a Pilot Escort Cosworth. Yes I am very much trying to relive my youth :-0 Any help on sourcing parts etc would be appreciated. |

Welcome on board
I really don't know a lot about the QD cars ... I think it's going to be a question of setting up a load of searches on eBay "Tamiya QD", "quick drive pumpkin", "QD pumpkin" & any other permutations you can think of & hoping bits turn up. Maybe facebook too. Good luck |

Hi thank you for the reply.
I have been desperately trying every combination of these types of suggestions with no luck. Nil desperandum I shall muddle through. My impromptu restoration is actually on my girlfriends QD car. Due to my exuberant driving style I pranged the coffee table on a hot lap of the lounge and off popped part of the almost 30 year old bumper from her beloved pumpkin ooooopps. SO if I need to replace the bumper I may as well do a proper job (providing I can source parts). |

Welcome on board. I think that clod buster blackfoot qd share same electro and chassis. For the tires they are classic midnight pumpkins and lunch box ones. Quick drive are not so rare. Look on ebay all round the world.

Thanks for the info Stingray,
The guy at the local shop just laughed a me when I asked if he could suggest where I might find one (after saying I had been trying Ebay). He seemed to imply that they were not too popular. Funny enough their is one on ebay at the moment that is exactly the same in its original box for over £300 |

I have one to. In the box with radio. But QD are toys. Not really collectible rc like several guys think.
Waterbok could answer you largely better than me. And why not you don't try to find a "real" midnight? You could have more fun and easier to find spares. And they aren't very bigger than the QD. |
