I have new tyres for the lunchbox in my box of wheels. There are wheels in there too but didnt check to see if they are worn. May buy some new rims for it though. The falcon is totally stock so that will probably be last to be messed with. You can get the wheels for the Audi, same as the honda city £7 a set but tyres have a different tread pattern. Ok to save the original tyres though.

Thanks for the info Richard, ive been looking at the differences with the old nicads and nimh compared to lipo's.
So is it possible to use lipos in my standard cars? Do I have to change motors to a brushless? I know I will most likely have to change electronics to be able to run lipo but if it makes that much difference then i think its worth it.
It looks like my imax 6b charger is a copy. (I hadn't a clue about modern chargers when I got it to charge my little heli battery a few years ago) I have seen "genuine" ones on banggood for a good price. I still cant believe the cheapness of things now compared to years ago. theres a Dumborc rx/tx for £30 thats 6 channel with a giro. I'd better start saving. Thhis could get out of hand quickly.  I also want to try one of these rock crawler cars, I off road in my Landrover so love the crawling stuff. Only been looking for a few days and its got me already.

Yes you can run lipo on old esc and with msc.
As a 2s lipo is 7.4v and fully charged 8.4v, vs a 6 cell nimh can be over 9v fully charged (mine was 9.2 when I charged it before use last time).
Deans is a popular connector on batteries and esc's these days. you can use a adapter between these two connectors or others for that matter.
Take a look in my TL01 Escort thread, I have bought a simple adaper to run batteries with Tamiya connector to esc with deans connector. These is also connectors to go the other way as well.
There is no need to change to brushless motor while using lipo batteries. brushed works fine.
I have Technigold and 21t brushed motors in my Lunchbox and Striker, both running on 2s 7.4v lipo.

Regarding lipo batteries there is some safety rules than is needed to be followd.

# Always charge in a lipo bag (bag that holds lipo battery in case if it blows up)
# Always charge with balance chariging (there is the main lead and there is a balance lead that needs to be plugged to your charger.
# Always use storage charging before the battery is put away - charger is putting the battery in the safe spot reagarding voltage.
# Never get any cells under 3.0V, if that's the case the battery is damaged - can result in puffed or fire in worst case.
# Recomended charging is 1c, aka 4A for 4000mAh, 3A for 3000mAh
# While in storage the batteries needs to either be in a lipo bag or amo case.
# ESC needs to have lip cut off or use a simple lipo alarm attached to the balance port while driving - Under lipo cut off the esc will stop running after a certain voltage at battery.
# If not in use for long periode of time, its recomended to storage charge the batteries at least every 6 months.
# If battery gets puffed or is belov 3.0v at one cell and it wont take charge, deliver it to you recycle center as soon as possible. You can tric the battery with charging with nimh mode for a few seconds till the battery has enough voltage to carry on lipo charge. But it's not recomended at all.

Following those rules and you should be safe.

Thanks for the lipo info, I was aware they are a bit lively and can blow up but theres a lot to go through and remember with the RC batteries. I have seen a few explosions and fires when I worked for a mobile phone repair center. They had a few incidents. We had fire boxes and bags.

Good news about the setups not needing to be changed. I will try the brushless setup and new radio gear just to compare at some point. Got to order a couple of set of crystals, seems they're all missing from the controllers and receivers.  Lipo's are the way to go in the future for certain but I will get a couple of 3300 nimh just to start with so I can test the cars when I get them sorted and a 2nd charger not a copy this time. I have a few things in my basket ready to order, just got to wait a few days for my pay to go into the bank.  Still deciding which to start restoring first. Maybe the Lunchbox or the Hornet. Now I have better fabrication skills and tools than I did 30 years ago I have a few Hornet chassis I would like to try and repair, I will probably fail but it will be fun and I might learn something in the process. I will get a replacement as well so I know I have something to work with.

Nice find Joe. Mine have been used but not abused, Mainly dirty and the paint inside the bodies is not good. Clean inside though so I wont have to work too hard on them. Its finding some parts that will be trouble. I don't even know what I need to find yet. I have to get my lunchbox done first.
