Ask anyone about 'Heroes' and they'll say they saw the first season and that it was pretty good.

Watched 'Twin Peaks' again a while back. Something went astray in that series at some point as well but apparently that had a lot to do with Lara Flynn Boyle sabotaging story lines (she was with agent Cooper in real life and didn't like that Sherilyn Fenn was stealing her show). Quite sure David Lynch's imagination was not to blame.

Edit - in any series, often while the season progresses a lack of imagination will show itself in filling time with semi dramatic music and camera sequences. At that point it's probably a lost cause.

The Crazy Ones was one of the few fresh and enjoyable things to watch (got cancelled though)...

As per topic title - didn't hurt Buffy was part of the cast.

Watched Interstellar last night - surprisingly intriguing! Better than I expected.

So while being in sci-fi mode, I thought Gravity would be the next good choice.
Man was I wrong, what a piece of cr*p. Didn't that mumbling ghostly entity playing the main part used to be Sandra Bullock?
