TBH I think I'd just buy Tamiya's Karmann Ghia, I think scratchbuilding & making your own vacform buck is only worth the hassle when you can't get it any other way.

AFAIK Tamiya's Ghia is made for M-chassis[1] with a 239mm Wheelbase. That's nearly 2cm too short for my FWD-car.

But did you just say you want to put a karmann ghia body on a fwd chassis!! I did alot of vac forming in my first jib, many years ago. Always fancied building a vac former. |

Thank you! And yes, I do want to put it on a FWD Chassis. I know, the Ghia is a RWD car, but I don't own a RWD-chassis and I think driving it with FWD will look very "scale". The vac former is pretty easy to build. Give it a try! |
