kyosho 4wd 4ws progress? 12 years 5 months ago #3405

i think its called a Progress, if not can someone please correct me.
got this as part of a RC bundle. i put a battery in it and it runs, forwards and backwards manually moving the speed controller.
it has acoms servos and receiver in it same as my tamiya's.
what a nightmare to work on!!!!! i cant get the transmitter to work so i guess i need to find what chip is in the receiver but i cant work out how to get it out, there is about a million screws as far as i can see?

ok so i have got it running now, using the transmitter.it goes forwards and backwards but the steering is back to front. right on the stick it goes left and vice versa.
is it possible to reverse the servo somehow. i cant change the linkages around as they wont fit????????

My (cheapo) transmitter has a button to reverse the direction of the channels...
That would of course be the easiest solution.

Still contemplating on another idea...

This would be the solution - without having to rewire the servo or anything :

eBay servo reversers

so would just swapping the black and the red wires over have the same effect?

No, that's positive & negative ... well, actually it might do, I've never tried it. Downside is it might fry the servo and/or the receiver :(

The "original Techniplus" transmitter as you put it - the AP227 mk. 3 - does have a crude servo reverse facility: undo the four screws holding the square grey bezel around the stick, turn 180 degress & refit the screws. The trim tab will be on the top rather than the bottom, but it's a mod at my favourite price - free :D

Swapping the wires will certainly not work but melt the servo. :S
Good thing there's another cheap fix.

NP :)

BTW, the other transmitter you have in your "OMG" thread - an Acoms AP227 Mk.2 - also has a "servo reverse" facility if you need it - but it's even cruder: if you undo the screws that hold the back of the case on & remove the back, you can get at the undo the screws that hold the stick surround on.

And yes, I am a bit of an Acoms anorak :D - in fact I'm working on a piece for the site on the evolution of Acoms 2-channel radio gear ...
