Hi buddies,
I need help: I bought for my next buggy a brushed "Team O'donnell Checkpoint 12X1 motor" (used but like new & for an indecent price. :D)
I tried it on my DT-02 and hummm... It's much more powerfull than my 3300 kV brushless!
So the question is: Is anyone knows electrical specs of this engine? I dont find anything about it.

Thanks guys!

Yes can you post a pic. First off it's team checkpoint owned by Jim odonnel. They where hand wound by him up until about 2000 then he sold and team checkpoint started mass producing them without jim.

If it looks like this it's worth money and hand wound.

If it looks like these which I'm guessing it does by the generic12x1sticker on it , it's a mass produced generic 540 can. They are quite fast though and still sell at around 30 to 50 new.

12 turn 1 wire is what the sticker means so it should be a quick motor.

Hope that helps. You can google team checkpoint for more info.
Keep the rubber on the road! PM me with any Alfa Romeo bodies!!!

Thanks to all, It's the engine in the middle, on this pic.
The question is : What is the max consumption with 7.2V ? I have to choose the right ESC. (I thinking about QuicRun 1060)
Links to O'donnell or CheckPoint.com seems to be dead.
This engine is a "beast" I lost a tire by centrifugation during first test ! I must precise that I speak about beadlock rims !

Any esc will handle a lipo, just use a LVA and the quicrun 60amp is fine, just make sure your lipo is a high C rating like a 50 C and your good. IF your losing tires find some aluminum hexes and maybe throttle in a bit less than you are so the power isnt so ON OFF... slowly bring the car up to speed with smooth trigger pulls. Its not usually the engines that are over powered but the lack of driver skill on the gears that tear a car apart. Best of luck and awaiting to see future project.

I lost a tire not a rim! I was surprised by acceleration and before i could react, the tire jumped off the rim. I think I'll must be gentle with throttle!
Anyway that's what I was searching. Goal achieved!

....

Foam inserts may help a little with that, but ultimately a little cyanoacrylate glue is the way to go ... also works on hard plastic drift tyres

The foam insert is in orbit around the planet...
For the moment I don't want reveal more about this new project, but crawler's wheels seem not to resist to high speed.
Obviously cyano is the solution.
