Vintage Acoms Radio Question 2 years 10 months ago #66362

Hello all! So I have a vintage Acoms AP-201 radio and its missing the antenna that screws in. Does anyone know if vintage Futuba etc were the same size thread? I find many different brands but not many for Acoms an the ones I do find are in another country. This is my only vintage radio that has the screw in type antenna so I have nothing to compare it to, Thanks!

Most vintage antennas do fit.
The are either with internal threads or have external threads on them.
Think they are M3 if memory serves my right.

I can go and check what is on my Futaba Attack radios etc.

Futaba Attack R has internal threads (threads inside the antenna)
Sanwa Dash and Sanwa GC2200 has both eternal threads (threaded rod in the end of the antenna)

That is what I have of old transmitters.
Most AM antennas will fit I think, FM ones can be a bit thicker, at least the one I have which is a helicopter transmitter.
Futaba and Sanwa ones is around 7mm thick.

If you are lucky, your lhs might has some in stock..

So yes, a Futaba Attack 4 style antenna should work.
AP-201 has internal threads, so have the Attack 4..

My lhs has that style in stock   www.elefun.no/p...spx?v=4008

Rather embarrassingly I no longer have a full perm of Acoms transmitters to check (just a couple each of the mk.2, mk.3, Technidrive, & the final 2.4Ghz stick sets)
