Regarding the screws, it's not the screws fault, it is the tool.
Tamiya screws are not Phillips, but JIS. A Tamiya screwdriver sort that out.

That said, the ones I find stripps easly even with Tamiya screwdriver is the counter sunk ones as used on Hotshot family suspension and chassis plates on 959/Celica.

Regarding the track width.
Just fit TL01 suspension arms, they fit straight on.
You will need:
Suspension arms, same is used on GF01 cars as well. C part tree.
TL01 driveshafts. 39mm I think they were.
TL01 steering links.

I have done the other way round, fitted M03 suspension on a TL01 chassis.

Yeh I've filed the tips on my screwdrivers.  It's not a perfect match for JIS, but helps.  I just find the silver screws are softer material than the black, almost like aluminium vs mild steel.

Went looking for some TL01 suspension arms.  As they are now 'old stock' the best I could find was going to cost me $50

Yeh it's freight is the killer.  The joy of living in AUS.  So for that USD17.00 item, the freight will be USD19.00

You always see on AU ebay, the prices are doubled and "free" postage offered

One has popped from RCMart, but it's still AUD36.00.  I only paid $100 for the chassis

So I've decided to go the cheaper route, and ordered a set of 15mm hub extensions.

Which means, I will now after all have to extend the chassis as the rear tyres will hit the body.  Thankfully I was thinking ahead (I will admit more unintentionally than intentionally), and have mounted the body so the front wheels line up correctly.  Which means I'll only need a second set of holes in the rear window.  Depending how far the mounts move, I may even get away with swapping the 'L' shaped posts for straight posts.

The hub extensions arrived couple weeks ago, and finally got around to fitting them.  Rear is fairly much spot on for width.  Fronts could be a bit wider, so I may get some 20 or 25mm, or rims with a different offset.

Now I just need to extend the chassis.  I had some left over sheet metal from an old computer case, but looks like it may have got chucked in my last clean out.  Will need to see what else I have.

Got the roof done last w'end. And today painted the GT stripes. Weather permitting I'll get the bonnet, windows, and clearcoat done this week. Then decal time 😀

Got all the detailing done on the Austin.  Some tidy up of my wobbly lines needed.  Safe to say i won't be taking up a career in signwriting.
Winter has now slapped us in the face, so not sure when I'll get the clear coats done.
Also got the body mounts fitted, and am happy with how it sits.
