Today I started on a new project, my new Wild Willy 2.

Have started the part I find boring, paint!
Made a start of the driver in non boxart outfit

Had to start over with the helmet.
Runs and just not good enough..

Yeserday I started on the chassis, today I "finished" it.

Seems I'm out of good servos to use, so I need to buy one or two actually as I want to run msc on this.
I did find a spare msc in my spare parts bin that needs a cleanup, but is complete including a resistor and cage.
Also the L shaped pipe brackets for the msc is included on the suspension part tree so all parts are there to run a msc, except msc and linkage.
Linkage is easy to make.
For transmitter I will use one of my trusty Futaba Attack R.

The helmet needed another smoothing for another layer of paint.

Today I took the msc apart for a clean.
Put it back together and mechanically tested it my hands and it worked like a charm

I do have new boots for the motor connectors but I'm out of switch lubricant so I have to order that..

Also did a little of painting of the figure.

Glued Mr.Willy arms today

And made the jerry can whole with adding a backside.
Cut a piece of styrene to shape, added some internal stands at wall side and glued it in.
Also gave it a coat of Tamiya putty.
Since the backside has the rounded edge present, I just needed to make the new backside flush with that said edge.

We hava a runner!

Yesterday I bought these servos, and I felt I stole them!
Recular price is 15 quid each, but I got both for less than 10.5 quid!!
7kg and metal gear.

First I had to change these covers on the msc.

Much better!

Then I cleaned the resistor and polished the cage a bit

Servos, msc and receiver fitted

Had to take a test drive in the living room and hallway.
Everything worked perfectly!

Now the dauinting task of the body left...

Today I sanded the jerry can.
As the bottom half is not seen, I don't bother to make it perfect
The "hold down strap stops at the top edge, so I added a bit of styrene

Fits like so...

I made to body complete today so I could check fitment, all fits good as per usual from Tamiya
Next I will take it apart for paint.

Also painted the winch and the NOS bottle.
Need to order paint, I have a very narrow selection of paint left to my disposal.

Made heaadlights today...
I hollowed ou the fake light so I retained the outher ring and then used some chrome buckets.

I have plenty of these from 3Racing, which is perfect for this.

Not long after the second was done.
Dremel is your friend for this task!
Want lights in the blinkers too, but I have to figure those out as they are 7mm in diameter and a regular led is 5mm..
Sanding down a 10mm led is a possibility.. More fitting would be a 8mm one if I can find..

Well now, Those lights look great :)
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)
