I congratulate you, is not an easy job to build an engine, I also from my engine, I had many satisfactions.
I enjoy talking with another person like me who enjoys doing the work of engineering .

Same here. It's difficult for some people to really appreciate how much care & effort goes into some of these projects, unless they've ever had a go at it themselves! Like you say, there is an amazing amount of self satisfaction to be had from it, especially at the end when it all comes together & works as it should.

After more than six years of waiting I decided to finish this project.
The weather was not badly spent, I made some minor changes
to the initial project that made it less trivial
The new body mounts

Welcome back, so to speak !

Beautiful project you have there, on the closing stages. As mentioned the dorrcards are amazing and the body is promising as well :y:

Thank you larbut.
The loading floor and the banks are made of a hundred year old wood.
Now I'm undecided about the coloring, for me it's always a problem.

Very nice build. I remember in the 80's when Bug pickups were very popular in the States.

Good to see some progress on this :y: :) , it's a shame your earliest posts have lost their pictures though :(

On the wood? I wouldn't do any more than seal it with satin clear. If you meant the bodywork, it's very difficult to go wrong with the "box art" panel divisions in almost any two colours. Personally I'd be thinking about sticking with VW colours and trying to match/blend with what you already have - VW Brilliant Orange and VW Alpine White immediately come to mind (in whatever off the shelf acrylic aerosols you can find), The Tamiya TS (lacquer based) would be TS56 Brilliant Orange and TS7 Racing White, or airbrush X6 Orange & X2 White, both mixed with tiny bit of some brown.

I think a shiny, just finished look would suit the look better overall than bleached/aged :)

The wooden part remains natural. I could pass it to wax.
The problem remains the bodywork, I am very undecided.
I thought of approaching the wood color with a natural combination like green or sky blue.
The orange tone could be fine, I'll think about it.

That's an amazing work! For your color, why not a used patina? Same if beetles have 7 colors layers...
