The idea would be to make a Hot Rod starting from a front and rear end of a Sand Scorcher Mk 1.

then I took a re-release body to which I removed the superfluous parts

with a 5 mm plasticard sheet I made the bottom.

With 2 mm screws I secured aluminum strips to the bottom.
Then I covered them with 1 mm plasticard

That's what I set the front axle to the chassis

Hey man!
That looks amazing, great start, I will be following along :)
This reminds me of a couple of cars I saw at Bug Jams I went to back when I had a fairly serious VW addiction in the late 1990's, very cool indeed!!

My hat is off to you as well for having the " guts to cut " I just have never been able to do it to a body shell re-re or otherwise, unless I was grafting pieces together to fix one back to original. I just need to work on getting over my fear I guess, what with re-re bodies still available.
Keep up the great work!!
From somewhere out in the wilds of central Ontario.
.......you build what you like, I will build what I like........it's all cool......

Thanks stingray-63.
Oldwilly, you do not have to be afraid to cut the body, it's a simple job, just a cutter and a ruler.
Care must be taken to make cuts as accurate as possible.

Nice idea B) :)

Got to sya though, exposed servo horn as the lowest point of the car seems like asking for trouble :(
