Did a bit of tinkering today.
I put together my Blazing Blazer chassis in the week.
2 things are stopping this being completed.
One is the body. I’ve built the chassis up from bits I’ve acquired along the way, but the body is just really scarce so I’ll definitely be thinking of something else.
The other problem was s set of deep dish wheels. The metal rims. The front ones on the Blazer are a deeper design.
In my spares I have quite a few Hi Lux ones.
So I thought I’d see if I could use these for now.

There is a gap of a few millilitres between each rim, but once bolted together and the bolted onto the hub it works fine.
I think I’ll get some longer 2mm hex headed bolts to match the originals.

I also soldered on some longer motor wires. The ones on this were way too short.
I also found a rubber motor cover in a box of spares. It’s got a split, but I’m experimenting with some rubber CA glue to patch it up. It can’t really get much worse so worth a go.

I also added on the body posts to the mechanism box.
All I need to do now is fix up the front bumper. I’ve got enough bits to make 2 bumpers, one for my Hi Lux and obviously one for this.
The one going on here needs a bit of fixing, in particular one of the black plastic pieces is broken.

One question, sacrilege as this may sound, but has anyone tried the Cold body on this chassis as it is at least a Chevy.

Take care, Al

Cheers Flo.
Option b could be the Rc4wd Blazer body. The wheel base is correct.
It would just need some modding.

Flo, I have no body for this.
I made it up from parts I had built up making a Toyota Hi Lux.

Cheers.

Al, I have a re-re bruiser & a vintage Clod fairly accessible, I'll post side by side body shots & one with the clod body on the bruiser chassis for you tomorrow :)

Cheers Jonny, much appreciated.
I have to get creative, but something to use as a base will help.

Otherwise it’s a naked Blazer.

Thanks Flo, I’ll take a look , I never thought about a lexan version, although not my favourite route.
But beggars can’t be choosers.

This lexan body is very ugly. I have a super clod body if you want but I don't find the back . I will look for the lexan body in my mancave .
