I've never seen SRB rims crack like that. :y:
The spokes are usually cracked from over-tightening the screws , but not the entire rim!

Oh, where did those "external rings" come from?

I know it's strange, it's the first time i see rims cracked like that.
Those rings are from the outer part of the rims...they were holding with the paint, i picked them up at the bottom of their DOT3 bath.

Last evening i started to assemble the tires. I had to replace the tires because they were too cracked. So, i ordered re-re ones. My thought was to rebuild this SS using exclusively vontage spare parts, but honestly until now this is the most expensive resto project i ever had ! Even the Bruisers/Mountaineers i've done until now were not as expensive as this one !
Luckily the decals are present as the door handles...and i still have to find a radio box (mine is broken) for a fair price !
I already got me a new front bumper, both mirrors (those tiny little things were just expensive as h****  )
Anyway, as i tried to fit the tires on the rear repaired rims, the outer ring broke off again

So i'm still figuring out how to repair them avoiding to use re-re ones !

In the meantime i could assemble the front ones with the new tires the mailman brought:

Hopefully i can do the lettering tonight.
thanks

I think that you used CA bond and it's not the better for the rims. (it breaks like glass. You should better use a translucid bi compound glue like araldite.

The black terrodon could be better but you'll must repaint the rims . Use a slow drying araldite. It is harder than the fast drying. ;)

I'm also convinced that the black 2 components would be a better solution.
The point was that i wanted to keep the slight yellow white colour of the rims making it look as vintage as possible.

 You need translucid araldite. It is enough hard.
