58029 Blazing Blazer Resto 6 years 3 months ago #47505

Hi all,
As i just finished my 2nd Mounty resto i started on the Blazer i had for a while waiting to be restored.
I got me that beauty a while ago, more or less 2 years i think, and now it's time to start working on it.

I already dissasembled it a while ago, but unfortunately i lost many pictures when my external HDD went down.

So i'll start with the pictures showing how i got it

The tires are not cracked nor broken and there are no signs of corrosion on the metal parts.
The gearbox shifts smoothly but i will install bearings in place of the bronze bushings.

It looks a bit used, but at least i got almost all parts.
I'm missing the following parts :

Driver head ( easily replaceable )
Both rear lights, got nice 3D printed ones ( Thanks Flo:y: )
And D5 Part ( Right side Wing panel )
2 UJ's worn and 2 others have been replaced with steel ones from the Super Champ

As already said, i already dissasembled it, cleaned all the parts and will start with the mechanical part.
Body paint post and repairing the body and wing will follow once the technical part is done.

Thanks for your comment guys,

Work continued yesterday...as wifey was watching her TV shows...

Worked on the front and rear axles and front Wheel hubs.

Dissasembly of the front axle

And installed bearings together with a new UJ

Assembled the hubs

The hubs didn't work as i got the Blazer. In fact the previous owner forgot to install the small springs on one of them and forgot the circlip on the other side. I looked a bit everywhere and was Lucky enough to find such a spring in my screw box (dunno where i got it from)

Rear axle also fitted with bearings

Assembled also with a new UJ

Now they're ready to be assembled onto the frame
