Cheers Flo, I'm trying to update my build threads. I've realised most have moved on and I'd like to see these threads completed at some point.

Thanks Jim, I think this is one of my favourite chassis'. No idea why really, but I like putting them together. I know it's sacrilege, but I was thinking about trying to do one , but modernise a few areas. The steering is ridiculously sloppy and I'd love to make the suspension more robust. I don't think you could do much more than that.

Cheers.

Here's a photo of all of the parts I've accumulated for the body.
I was and still hope to make 2 bodies out of this lot, although one will need a serious amount of work. Which I will attempt one day.
I think I've now got pretty much everything together to make one body.
I still intend to mould some parts, I've being saying that for ages and it's still the plan. You never know when you might be able to help somebody else out with a wing mirror. And those window frames are super fragile and rare.
I think since I took this pic, I've acquired some more bits, because when I was looking for something the other week, I seemed to think I had a lot of seats for some reason. I think I managed to pick up some lenses and even a nice set of the chrome front light buckets.
I think I need to update this picture. Now the update needs updating !!!
Apologies.

You should definitely give a whirl and see what comes of it, I would like to see what you end up with. I mostly fab 1;1 scale stuff for my muscle car and antique truck and I love to see the likes of you guys and your talent for this sort of thing.

Cheetah build update.
So I bought this today, screenshot from sellers pics.

He said the windscreen isn’t glued in, which is good because that’s the first thing to go.

Hopefully with this new shell and the below I’m going to be able to get a couple of half decent bodies.

That’s what I’m aiming for because the chassis’ are piling up.

To be fair, I’ve sold one of these, because I’m never going to get a decent body on all of them.
Plus I’ve got my stash of NIP bits to build my ultimate Cheetah still sitting in a box.
In all seriousness my plan is to mould some parts and to have a good crack at putting 3 bodies together.
One of these chassis’s will probably get converted to an XR311.

If I end up with one decent body I’ll call that a result.

Sorry, little bits and pieces. This is one complex body shell.

Cheers Jim, when I first got back in Tamiya I just really wanted a Cheetah. But getting a good body shell has so far eluded me.
So I’ve taken to picking bits and pieces over the last 5 years.
I do enjoy building up the chassis, but I think this has got out of hand.
Long term, I think I’ll keep one and sell everything else. It’s just become a bit of a money drain. I have an XR311 box completely full of spares, it’s just nuts.

I prefer the xr311 but the cheetah is very nice.

My Cheetah still is also not finished as it is hard to find the parts or if found are way too expensive.
Did anyone think of 3D printing the body and body parts? I found out that there are quite a lot of 3d printed bodies for crawlers available.
So maybe this would help a lot to rebuild or finish their Cheetahs.
