Seeing as I have finally laid my hands on a decent condition body, I thought it was time to set about sorting out the tired looking original chassis.
A couple of pics of it in its sorry state to start off with The awful body was removed and found it’s way to my ranger project, see tamiyabase.com/...brid#48469 And the strip down and clean begins. The plastic parts were all placed in 60c water with washing up liquid for two hours and then scrubbed very well and all metal parts and gear box internals, dog bones etc were left to soak in Bartoline Brush Cleaner for an hour and then scrubbed clean in the washing up liquid water, and here we have the end result

I’m following this build.
I bought most of a Blackfoot just after Christmas because it had the original body, grill and rear end with the Ford logo. I was planning on doing an SRB Ford Ranger. But I’ve since stated buying up the bits needed to complete the Blackfoot. It’s a subconscious thing. Love how clean everything has come up, looking great already. |

Here’s a question for the good people on here, I really am stuck as to what to do about an extra couple of spot lights that the PO had fitted to the body shell, normally I would just take them off and put back to original box art, my problem being it looks like Tamiya missed a trick by not fitting them, I think they look like they should have always been there
So my friends what are your opinions? the more opinions the better |

Meh, does nothing for me ... but it's your truck & if you like it like that.... also does away with the hassle of filling the holes

I am sure about the way you should go, but I am sure about something. REMOVE the yellow stickers in the headlights.
I have the solution. Buy another body. This one boxart and the new, without ford on the houd, with the extra lights. |

The extra spot light doesn't work for me.
Looks to small and weird position (bolted to the hood). But, keep in mind I'm a box-art fanatic, so... Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile. Use normal BBcode if you want.
