As I feel there will be a few pauses in between projects I thought I’d put this one in the mix.

I did own an SRB Ford Ranger in the mid 80’s. Like most of my cars from back then bought off a kid at school who’d got bored with it.
It was quite good fun, but to drive I think the centre of gravity was too high. So it was a bit of a roller.

Jump forward to today and the SRB’s just look like the best thing ever to restore and the body shells on them.

Okay so the Rough Rider wasn’t top of the list, I’ve amassed a lot of SRB parts and a couple of Scorchers will appear once my paint skills are feeling up to it.

So any way to kick it all off here’s the original Rough Rider shell I picked up last year.

So the beauty is although some obvious bits are missing they all come on the same parts tree.

As for the chassis.

I’m trying to keep my hoarding in order, so I try to keep parts together in terms of a finished car. Then I can refer back to the photos to check what’s still needed.

Well you are jumping about with projects ;) That never happens to me   I had 3 SRB's (which I have moved on) I really did enjoy restoring them but if they aren't going to be driven, then they needed to go  I look forward to seeing this one come to life. Question, How is the pin striping done on the body?
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

Hi Andy. I just know that with each of the projects I will have to put them on hold at some point.
So at least this way it keeps me motivated to keep them going.

Was that a typo in your message.
Did you mean paint stripping???

Nope you are correct, pin striping. It’s a transfer. It didn’t really show in the pictures on eBay. But it’s around the whole body.

Flo, for the Beetle I’m only too happy to buy the re-release.

I guess the Rough Rider isn’t as popular.

I had the chance some years ago to buy a lot of spares of srb. So I could build 2 chassis with them. 1 fighting buggy and a sand scorcher wich is now a ranger replica.
