Richard's Falcon basket case project. Looks like a Falcon chassis now... 6 years 1 week ago #49526

As posted in the mailman thread I got my first Falcon in the mail today.

This is truly my first basket case project to date, but I will try to save as much as possible, how much I got left of orginal is left to see.

Here we go.

Patient on the table..

Naked. So far the body seems to be the best part, even with cracks, overcut and bent pieces in the rear.

This speaks for itself, nasty! Seems to be old hotglue

Same with the lower suspension arm.
Allways wondered when I've seen past threads how they get the shocks so dirty, well here is my first ones that's real grubby

Front body mount is missing

Wires are easy fix

Wrong screw for the rear suspension

Same for the other side

Missing resistor, easy fix

I gonna bin that motor for sure

Broken tub with bad repair

Front suspension arm..

Broken tub

Holy rusted bolts!
Suspension arm seems to be broken too

More rash in real life than the picture shows..

So there you have it.
I need to dissamble to see how bad it really is.
But I need some parts, that's for sure!!

Looks like the only thing holding that together is all that glue.
I’m sure it’ll be all good....in the end?

ohhh, that's not good...
I've already had a look, but I don't seem to have Falcon parts at all. I'll look again though.

Could not wait to see how bad this was, so late this evening I dismantled it.

Lot's of rusted bolts, but most came out.
Wrong bolts/screws was guided to the trash bin.

I think I actually are able to save both the chassis and front bumper :y: :y:

But the following parts did not make it:

# D1 upper front bulkhead
# Both front lower wishbones ( F3+F4 )
# Both rear suspension arms ( R1+R4 )
# Both inner suspension mounts ( D2+D3 )
# Motor
# BS1 x 2 (3x46mm screw pin)
# Various fastners.

The rest I think I can reuse, afer a good clean.
The bumper and lower bulkhead has lot of glue on them, but hope the grafitti remover will make the glue unstuck.

Don't have the funds to a ultra cleaner yet, so this will be done by the old fashioned way by elbow grease :silly:

Pics is comming tomorrow
