As this is nowhere near mint, even when finished rebuilding, I wonder if it would be a good idea to fit CRP #1620 metal chassis brace?
I've never driven a Falcon either, so I'm thinking of make this a light runner, taken out now and then on nice days..


Parts that is trash, seems to have forgotten the bottom half of the bulkhead.

Motor sized and not looking particular good, so this will donate the wiring, the rest is heading for the trash can.

The only fault this chassis has, is the poorly repaired section, despite the look

Had to cut one of the nut holder flanges to be able to get a the bolt out as the bolt snapped on the other side..

Wonder what's hiding under all that glue

Seen worse underside of a used chassis..

Nothing broken here either, just the holes after the previous owner had made for some big self tappers, I suspect it was his way to limit the travel or lower it..

No clue of why there is glue there as the chassis is ok at the spot.

Gears are actually in good shape, that's was a surprice after all that other stuff!!
Just needs a good clean.
Bushes on the other hand was shot, no wonder it would not turn, sized motor did not help the cause lol

Bumper is ok apart from the broken ear. Thinking of either CRP or make a brace myself.
Hope the glue is going with the grafitti remover I've planned to buy.

Dirty rusted bits ready for a bath

Don't have a ultra cleaner, so I did a cheap method.
A vibration motor taped to a box and some soapy water

Household cleaner only did so much, so have to find some better stuff to clean the parts with.
A xmas cookie tray makes a perfect part divider

I'm gonna use this body.

Yes, a lot of work, but hopefully in the end it will be worth it

Woohooo, won a chassis in good condition on ebay, and luck would have it have the rear suspension mounts fitted,
3 items less to look for


But I found my Falcon is missing 2-3 of the brass tubes for the shocks, and 1 bolt for the motor (3x27mm) as one of them was really mangled.
May steal them from the Bush Devil chassis ha ha.

As said, I won this yesterday, will fix my chassis and keep it as a spare.
£9.50 so far in parts (chassis)

Round 2 of cleaning parts, this time much better!
The gears cleaned up very well

Managed to get rid of the previous "repair"
There is indeed a crack allmost all the way down.
Think I will try Gorilla glue as they are selling a selection of the Gorilla glues not far from me.

A lot of scratches and stains on this chassis, so a repaint is due after I've fixed the crack and filling the extra holes

I counter sunk the big holes ffrom the non orginal holes to make it hold the filling better, I hope anyway..

After a lot of work, I got rid of the hotglue that covered the whole section that goes under the bulkhead.
So now I have a useable bumper, not pretty, but useable

Skint is the word this week, so next week I need to buy some Gorilla superglue, vinegar to remove the rust and some paint.
Also need to write down what parts to order.

Do any know a black filler type for plastic?
I hate to see grey or white scratches under the chassis after some use,

After the vinegar I'm going to paint the screws gold as most have lost their shine anyway.
Found a spray that worked very nice last time I did a batch for my other rigs.

You go away for awhile and come back to see this mess, that's quite a project you have there. I think the solution is fairly easy though....just jack up the body and slide a new chassis under it!
Growing up I had a friend who's father owned the local garage and he use to say " your battery needs and new car......."
