If any of the chassis bolts needs to be drilled out, I have used helicoils in the past with luck
Also great for secondhand chassis's that somebody has fitted bigger screw than stock, but the chassis reamains good.
There is also nut inserts, used in 3d prints etc, but those has bigger diameter than helicoils, so usually they are too big to fit into the holes along chassis walls etc.

I've managed to order the 2 original screw bags I need to replace the worn screws.
So at least it stays original.

One buyer is UK so should be fairly quick, the other is US so I'm probably looking at a fortnight ??

And it always handy to have some spares.
😁

So today rather than working through another lunch hour I decided to spend 5 minutes and dig out my Hotshot spares and bits and pieces from this car.

My upgrade chassis. I think this might have been a company called TRF ? I love the instruction sheet. It looks like the text was typed on an old fashioned typewriter.

Rear shock upgrade, no idea who made these, but they're nice quality.
I think at one point I was considering a lot more upgrades, but I don't think my school boy budget could quite fulfill my dreams.

And these are left over parts from the original kit and also a bunch of spares I bought back then ( all original NOS ), so the speed controller, I don't think this ever really got used because I remember sticking a Demon ESC in it. Original drivers head ? Original netting that didn't get fitted.
Drivers head and netting never got used because the receiver went in the space which his head would have filled. Original  slightly bent antennas.
I must have been prepping for something, I bought a new D and E tree, plastic gears, bevel gears and propeller joints. And this must have been back in '85 or '86.
Luckily the car didn't get abused enough for any of these parts to be needed.

Cheers Flo, I think it's only advantage is possibly giving you a bit more space for the radio gear.
I was tempted to see if I could pick up another Hotdhot to use these after market parts on.
