The tear down has started.
It’s all gone fairly well, I’ve got 2 screws that are proving to be stubborn.
Nothing new has cropped up, which is good.
My only thing to investigate so far is whether the wheels have been painted or not. At the minute I’m thinking yes, or could it just be age??

After going through my spares boxes, I’ve found the 380 motor with the mounting bracket.
An MSC turned up the other day, it was purchased for one of my Cheetah builds, but is also correct for this model.
I have a brand new motor mount which must have come with some other parts.
The only downer so far are the servo mounts which I thought were correct, but I think these are from a different model, maybe an F2 car.
So I’m only missing 2 parts, the servo plate and the control arm for the MSC. I’ll take that at this point.

Hopefully Christmas prep not withstanding, I’ll start trying to clean up some parts this weekend.

Always a plus when you actually use parts you have saved and don't have to buy them!! Looks good so far, teardown is where costs can stack up.

Wheels appear to be aged to me......

I’ll try a spot test with some paint remover and see what happens.

Glanzer or caustic soda should work to.

So a few weeks back I won this lot on eBay. Although I was really only after one bit.
This, which had been removed from the one I bought, when someone had previously fitted an RSC.

I’d bought a complete, we’ll almost complete model at Christmas time, but it came with an early ESC which I always knew I would want to replace and get the car back as near to 100% original.
Actually the MSC from this lot will probably get used as well.

I also picked these up in some separate sales. My reasoning behind buying these was a combination of, they were cheap, I was slightly paranoid they might be in better condition than what I had and finally, when I sell off the left over bits I thought it might be an easier sell to have most of a chassis ??!!!

And by luck I managed to get this.
The front wing has been bodged a bit on the one I bought, but this is in much better condition. Some of the chrome looks a bit worn, but I can live with that.
