Great info right there :y:

Bummer the supplier I ordered at, don't have come up at task since they were super cheap.

One sheet of 1.5mm in 1400x1000mm was quoted at approx 10 quid or so.
But to do it at that price I had to wait til another customer would order from the plastic supplier, or else it will be expensive.

There is a plastic company in Oslo that make those sheets, but they only sells in bulk of 10.
I would have that amount for the rest of my life lol.
And I don't have the funds to buy that the cost they quoted me a while back.

Ebay have been my friend when I needed small volume.
But most sellers have good price on the item itself, but shipping is killer.
And everything over 32 quid has import tax and custom charges.

I have small quantity left that I hope will last the current build, I also have a big box of scraps.

Keep on the good work mate, I really love your work ;)

Also working on the cab, and the Willy full figure/4x4 driver figure mashup:

Everything else has had it's base colour, the main body is still outgassing in the shed.

Nice work on the helmet JR and that thin mask certainly gave a smooth curve :) , Some of that black trim tape around the face opening would be nice too B)
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

Last part in from the shed, the paint took quite a while to outgas fully

Typical of the overspray on the unseen/inside surfaces of the main body, access is difficult to i won't take it back to bare plastic, just take the roughness off the top so I can use servo tape & so on where I need to.

I will go back & do a paint wash on the detail parts of the outside, but the cab is pretty much finished:

A footnote on the blue anodosed base of the amber beacon - I added a sprinkle of caustic soda to 10ml water & nothing happened despite stirring and waiting, I added a bit more, again nothing ... I was thinking about adding more or abandoning it, when the solution must have got through the coating somewhere - it starting fizzing like a couple of soluble Asprin, so much so that I couldn't see/find the the bit to fish it out. I had a container of water handy so dumped the contents of the medicine cup in & dilute the solution enough to slow the reaction. I got a way with it, though the base is a tiny but thinner now. The remaining blue specs I think are from where the anodizing was "protected" by superglue where the circuit board was "fixed" in - I'll leave those as there are hidden.

Wheels complete, nowhere near as shiny as the glare suggests.

Still keen on doing a bigger tractor, I got a couple of bits of inpsiration: a laughably badly painted small mug, and a 1984 Britains 1:32 Massey Ferguson 3680 tractor. It's a decent enough example (although the wheels are very soft around the edges), but the quality just isn't there compared to the late 70s stuff I've had.

Also did a little bit of work on the combine main body :)

Finished putting this together last night & it seems even more of a beast than it did in bare white the last time it was together ... I'm holding off on photos until I can either sort a bigger/tidier "studio" space, or take it outdoors (will have to wait on the weather) as I don't want poor photos to rob it of its enormity ;)
