Grass is unfeasibly long & lush so test drive didn't go so well, would only run about 18" before one of the drive wheels started spinning up. I suspect even with freshly cut short grass and couple of modifications would be needed to keep if moving and the reel rotating - locking the diff & fitting a slightly bigger fifth/guide wheel with some better grip (like a homemade disc wheel of Wild One/Fox dimensions & with a narrowed down oval block tyre).

Diff taken out & drillled to take m3 countersunk screws to lock it:
New narrow front tyre made from 2 Hotshot type rear oval block tyres - 2 because they were both worn on one edge (so probably off a Bigwig); wheel made from stacked discs of styrene made with a compass cutter didn't come out as round as I would have liked it, so tidied it up (and made it a bit too small) on the Unimat: Wheel is a lot bigger than the mk.I, but overall rolling radius isn't that much bigger so still clears the reel, although I did have to adjust the top & rear clearance slots on the cutting head: ps thanks for the positive comments |

Nice! And they look more than tractor tires.
