Either the Orange or the Blue for me. I like them both. Nice work mate.

All finished & installed :) Mixed X-26 Clear Orange & Gold gave a slightly better result on the helmet (rather than mixed X-6 Orange  & Gold), but needed 5 coats. If I want to do something candy orange again, I think a metal paint followed by clear orange would work better.

I really plan to keep this one :)

The Rough Rider / Buggy Champ has definitely grown on me too - from the most "meh" of all the SRB variants to ... #3 I guess :)

It's the one I miss. Still some parts missing to build a chassis.

4+ years ago I bought a Heron decoy, more from liking it as a sculptural object than a genuine need to keep them out of the garden - though they do give me a bit of the wiggins, flying close past my window like a feathery pterodactyl ...

Anyway, he's faded quite a bit, and is flaking quite a lot too - after hitting the surface with a pressure washer it's now in primer, outgassing in the shed prior to airbrushing to try & recreate the original colours.

Plan B is to go all black and call it a cormorant - a flamingo having been judged unsuitable

The primer seems too have stuck ok, and I thought about getting some paint on it this morning, but then the weather turned :(

I have at least worked out what (Tamiya acrylic) colours to use, and the order to tackle them - I'm noting them here so don't I lose the info

XF-25 Light Sea Grey: sides of chest, neck & head, lower 2 tiers of wing feathers

XF-24 Dark Grey: upper 2 tiers of wing feathers, back of lower pack of neck

XF-69 NATO Black: sides of crest, plume, lower wing edges + patch at wing root, neck bumps

XF-2 White: wing leading edges, patch above wing roots, dry brushing on wings & neck

XF-3 Flat Yellow/X-6 Orange mix (ratio TBD): Beak

XF-16 Flat Aluminium, X-26 Clear Orange, XF-24 Clear Yellow, X-1 Black: Eyes
