Body Repairs 4 years 8 months ago #55864

Hi all,

Its time that I get working on the body shell of my RC Tamiya TL01 Subaru body.If this was a more common body I would just chuck it away and replace it with a new one, but I have found that these 1998 Subaru Impreza bodies are very hard to come by.
How can I go about filling in or repairing the cracks? As a temporary repair to give the body a little bit of strength and the lines to meet I have super glued the major dents and cracks back together.
Is there a more permanent way and stronger way I can repair these?
I am thinking something more along the lines of putty or filler...

Try team blue groove for a repro body shell. Or another brand like hpi or kyosho.

You can use drywall tape and Shoe Goo to repair and strengthen a polycarbonate body, but it is never going to be like new. Dented or distorted areas might possibly be realigned with heat, but you might also make it worse.

I have used drywall tape and Hudy bodyfix in the past for runner bodies.
