Painting my Tamiya driver figures. 1 year 2 weeks ago #74980

Today I started restoring the driver figures for my vintage racers and 1 for my OG Super Shot that I didn't realise I hadn't done 😊 After gathering all the required parts I put them all through the media blaster to clean off any old materials, I then stripped them apart to clean out and removed any remaining sprue tabs. After reassembling I gave the seams a lite sand ( I'm not worried about them being visable as I think it is part of the charm ;) ) A final clean then a couple of coats of Tamiya surface primer :)

Tonight I started by masking the faces before applying the top coats, 2 helmets and and bodies in TS Pure white and 2 helmets and a body in TS Italian red 😊 Once dry enough I removed the masking and did the face colour, I'll leave them to dry completely overnight before I paint the belts and eyes aswell as the face mask for the Super Shot driver ;)

Andy, you mention you will clear coat them? Do you mask the face for this?

No more masking, I like mine finished with a satin clear like the one I did for Flo 😊
