NO!!! The owner called me this morning and I did the deal :woohoo:


The body is dead. It had a big one during the Daytona 500 :D
And a front outer diff is broken. If somebody has one I am very interested. It is the sme as the shogun.

Followed a suggestion from a member on TC on how to remove paint off of vintage plastic bodies............... the advice cost me a World Engines Rockbuster body :cry: :n: :cry:

Removing paint from plastic material is difficult.
The first problem is figuring out what kind of plastic you have. On newer stuff it's stamped, but vintage plastic has no material marking.
The second problem is finding something that chemically reacts with the paint, but not with the plastic. You usually don't know what paint you have to remove.
Paint and plastic are in many cases chemical relatives, they both include polymers. So, you're in risk of damaging both with your removal chemicals.

So removing paint from plastics are in most cases a trial and error thing, unless you know the ingredients in all three components, and you are a chemical engineer specialising in polymers.... :laugh:

Reading the label of the chemicals you plan to use is sometimes the best, and only, thing you can do. (except from listening to "web-experts" with quick solutions, of course :dry: )
