We get the occasional Heron flying over (or past) our garden, usually they're Grey Hero (which are grey with black bits), but today a Purple Heron flew past my window. Purple Herons aren't purple, they're brown & speckly ...

The colouration of this one stood out - the wings still looked like that of a Heron (wingspan/shape of a Cessna etc), but the neck, head & eye(s) were that of a Pterodactyl

My brother spotted a black stork recently, thinking it was a heron at first as well.

Saw a raven hopping in the gutter across from my house myself. Impressive critter.

Still checking in on bird cams once it a while. Lots of barn owl chicks this year...

We have a big colony of green Parakeets since several years. They have a large teritory. Fluo green with a long tail.

Seems to be a good year for small grasshoppers here - this one one my bedroom ceiling is fairly typical at about 100mm long including the antennae:

This Grey Heron visited the garden in December last year - wasn't a particularly big one, not much above 75cm tall strutting about, wingspan about 110cm:
