Another 58024 Sand Rover Resto 11 years 7 months ago #12710

I've been trying selling a few cars to clear a bit of space & raise some cash, so the last thing I need is another car to restore ... but when I aws this basically sound but rather unloved sand Rover on eBay at a tempting price I had to have it...

The listing did include the phrases "what you see is what you get" and "no idea if it works" so I am expecting there will be something wrong with it ...

Don't much fancy the battery's chances - still plugged in, isn't it?
....ideal opportunity to practice some hard-case splitting & cell-replacement!

Looks like a great buy to me though!

Wow, I've always wanted a Sand Rover, just could never afford it. The examples on Ebay are fair prices, but can range up to $100 just for shipping to South Africa.

So JR, if you ever sell it, PLEASE consider me first...

100 USD doesn't sound like a bad price for tracked shipping .,. assuming it would weigh less than 2kg packed, looking this morning Royal Mail would want 46 GBP for a untracked, 35-40 day delivery, DHL want 127 GBP  for tracked 3-4 day.

I use Interparcel for international deliveries for my business and always found them very reasonable.

48GP + 5% = 50.40, + 20 % = 60.48 GBP ... or 97.49 USD, & we're back to where we started :pinch:

Actually, seems like I was wrong about the discount :pinch: (I'm sure I used to get one  )
Price is GBP48.80 + VAT = 58.56 (2kg, 40cm x 30cm x 10cm box)

40cm x 30cm x 10cm box? That could work ... if you took off the wheels, rollcage, windscreen, driver, bottom of the gearbox, and both bumpers ... that would leave room for maybe one layer of bubbblewrap on top of the body & one under the chassis :silly:
