The TRF414X is the first official release of the TRF414 chassis series. It was a limited release only in the US.The TRF414X was the culmination of the a development project initiated in 1998 byt Tamiya America. The prototype, named TRF404, was reced in various races both in the US and elsewhere in the world by the TRF team, gathering information for the first official release.  The team TRF was very active at major domestic races with the TRF414X, and took 3rd place overall at the 24-Hour Endurance Touring Car Race and 9th place overall at the JMRCA All Japan Touring Car Championships. These immediate excellent results proved the machine to have a great potential for high performance. The next version to come was the TRF414.
