This is the first of the kits where Tamiya distributed the Italian brand, BMT (Blitz Model Tecnica), models. The BMT brand did, at the time, produce highly competitive chassis. Tamiya rebadged the kits and added the OPS 2.5SL engine. Apart from that, they were almost standard BMT 931 kits. Tamiya made manuals in typical Tamiya style listing all the spare parts with special BMT part numbers.
