I couldn’t decide where to put this topic, please do move it if there’s a more appropriate home.
I’ve had a poke around but can’t (surprisingly) find a topic on tyre repair. Basically I have these tyres and am in a position that I need to repair them. Naturally I’m assuming they have sat in one position for a long time and deformed the cracked. They are a closed/sealed tyre so getting inside could be tricky, not impossible though. Does anyone have any glue or purpose rubber glue tips. I have a “how it’s made” episode in mind where they remould tyres and use rubber glue to bond it. Looking forward to your opinions and tips |

What you are looking for was an Article by JR not a topic Check out the Articles tab top right of page for some great info
Here is the link to the specific tyre one tamiyabase.com/...eservation If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate

it's also a bit out of date ... things move on, big addition in the field is "Rubber Toughened" CA adhesive for gluing cracks & even cutting 'n' shutting tyres to make them smaller... I'd specfically recommend ZAP-RT for this.
IDK if there's an optimum place in the process for gluing, TBH I'd scrub it, glue it, then soak in glycerine as I would have thought the risk of glycerine contaminating the joint area was more that the risk of it attacking an already glued joint. |

Somebody tried the blue glue for real tires repair? The vulcanisation glue ?

That's exactly what I thought. I think I'd apply the glycerine by hand so I can sparingly apply it around these fixed areas. Then there the slight flattening on the cracked side. I may try inserting a foam tyre insert. I'm going to look around for some products now, plus that recommendation. Flo, ill look up that one too... |

Thanks Andy, the first ones look really quite good.
Although I must admin the thought of getting these ones to look good is quite exciting. I will try my best and see where I get. I think I am going to take all of these updates to a specific topic, Unless we can just change it to the Kyosho Datsun 4WD purple_rob topic I have some updates to post on the project. |
