I received last week my Monster Beetle. The chassis is in a good condition. Not complet but nice. The body needs a lot of work

here after reception:

The MSC was changed but the other is good but not in the good color
Front rims was changed by a set in better state.
and the first step of the body reconstruction.





The body has been cleared with a very big coat of varnish.
I think that I will replace the wheele arch and leave the paint and the decals as it was.

I thought I had a Scorcher wheel arch too, but I can't find it at the moment.

I had a HITECH Challenger 260 with the Monster Beetle. Is it OK for the period?

Ok some information for you It seems that the Challenger 260 came as part of RTR kit made by Aristocraft called the Dolphin, This kit was released around February 1989, and we know that the Monster Beetle was released December 1986. Hope that helps

Isaw on the bay that this type of radio gear was separately available too. I hope that it was a better quality than the Challenger 250. (Wich I had on my Marui Tbird Nascar)
